  • Overview

    Foundation Skills have several courses designed for young people who need extra support and time to develop their basic skills to enable them to progress in college. There are no formal qualifications needed to apply for these courses.

    Students may begin at 2 differing levels dependant on their ability, E2/E3. The course is designed to support , nurture and encourage students to embrace learning and develop skills and knowledge to enable them to progress to the next levels and some may ultimately progress onto the internship programme after 2 or 3 years working in industry with support.

    Units of study include cookery, craft, gardening, maths, English, exercise, domestic duties and volunteering.

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements. This course is designed to introduce students to college, designed for young people who need extra support and time to develop their basic skills to enable them to progress into college. This course is suitable for those with learning needs.

  • How will I be assessed?

    You will study vocational modules to build a City and Guilds portfolio.

  • Progression Pathway

    After completion, you may be able to study a higher level college course.
