Vocational – Public Services Level 1

You will study a wide range of subjects which are interesting, fun and will enable you to really excel in both academic and practical ability. The course will help you develop a range of employability skills such as professionalism; leadership; citizenship; teamwork and social awareness, and as part of the course you will also study English and Maths.

This is the initial level introducing a career in the Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Armed Forces, Government or Local Council. You will develop a range of employability skills including professionalism, leadership, research skills, teamwork and social awareness.

For our Pre-Advanced Level 1 courses the entry requirements are 1 x GCSE at Grade 3, 1 x GCSE at Grade 2 & Maths or English Language at Grade 2 and Grade 1 in the other.

Some courses and subjects will have additional specific entry requirements or require DBS clearance to undertake placements. Information about this can be found on the Apply Portal, and on your offer letter which you will receive after your interview.

Assessment takes place through coursework, practical activities and continual assessment throughout the year. This may include some external assessments.

Once you have successfully completed this course you may be able to progress in college or onto employment in a range of uniformed public service/non-uniformed services.
