  • Overview

The core includes topics such as Hardware, Networking, Legislation, Data Analysis and of course Programming. An integral part of your T Level is taking an extended period of time putting into practice the skills you have developed in the classroom. You will undertake an extensive placement in the vibrant digital workplace with a local employer.

On the Design, Production and Development pathway you will then continue to develop and hone your programming skills, branching out into new languages that are cutting edge and industry standard.  When you leave us you will be a fully accomplished programmer with a portfolio of work ready to add real value to an employer in a digital role.  You will undertake real projects that use leading edge technology to meet the growing needs of a digital world.

This course is ideal for those with a keen interest of computer science, coding and software development and is arguably the best route to take for progression in this area.

    You will cover topics including:

    • Business context
    • Culture, including ethical and moral issues
    • Programming
    • Data management and modelling
    • Digital analysis
    • Digital environments
    • Legislation
    • Security
    • Software and hardware testing

You will complete a 45 day industry placement, allowing you to develop real-life experiences in this industry, as well as make meaningful connections with established professionals and experts. This opportunity is unique to T Levels and gives you a strong head start in this competitive market in terms of progression.

    Course Highlights:

Team building, fantastic digital facilities and practical project work

  • Entry Requirements

You will need to have achieved at least 5 Grade 4s at GCSE. This must include both Maths and English Language, followed by an interview with our Course Leader.

  • Progression Pathway

Completing a T Level puts you in an extremely strong position to move onto employment as a Software Developer. T Levels are recognised by Universities and hold a more substantial UCAS value than some A Levels or BTECs. Due to the high level of industry experience you will receive, you would also be in a very strong position to move onto an Apprenticeship.

  • Teaching & Assessment

In Year 1, you will sit two formal examinations, and complete an Employer Set Project. Each of these elements counts for 33% of your overall grade for Year 1.

In Year 2, you will complete an Occupational Specialism Project as well as observations in your industry placement.

You need to pass all elements of the assessment process to gain a full T Level, and you will be awarded with a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* at the end of the two years.
