Study different aspects of the public services, meet real life staff and officers, ask questions and get the advice and support you need to be able to join them.
The course is delivered through a mixture of practical, theoretical and work-related tasks and activities where you get the chance to study many different aspects of all the public services, meet real life staff and officers, ask questions and get the advice and support you need to be able to join them. The subjects you will study are interesting and fun and enable you to really excel in both academic and practical ability. You will learn about:
- employment opportunities
- teamwork skills
- expedition skills
- security in the services
- crime and its effects
- health and fitness
- emergency responses to incidents

- Entry Requirements
For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects. Level 2 courses last for 1 year.
Please note, some courses and subjects will have additional specific entry requirements or require DBS clearance to undertake placements. - How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed continually throughout the year by coursework, and there will also be an exam for Unit 1.
- Progression Pathway
Successful completion of this course may lead to progression onto a Level 3 course, employment or training.
