- Overview
What will I study?
If you take the EPQ, you will have one EPQ band on your weekly timetable. Lessons may take the form of:
- a whole group tutorial on research and presentation skills
- a smaller group tutorial 5 4 3 2
- one-to-one support from your teacher
- a session dedicated to your independent research and the completion of your project production log
- Entry Requirements
Overall requirements for the A Level Programme at Runshaw College require a minimum of 5 GCSE subjects at Grade 5, in 5 separate national curriculum subjects (including a minimum of grade 4 in both English and Maths). It is expected that most students will study 3 subjects – the option of doing 4 subjects for students who have an average GCSE grade profile of 8 or above will be considered on an individual basis. - How will I be assessed?
You will complete a production log, a project, and complete a presentation.
- Progression Pathway
As a result of these skills, many universities offer our EPQ students places with lower A Level grades if they also achieve their Extended Project Qualification, making it ideal for high achievers who want to secure places at top universities.
